Chloroquine was a disaster for me. It might be great for PCT but I have VP which wasn't known when Chloroquine was tried. I became very ill and my skin reacted with a huge breakout of new sores.

I have never taken any pharmaceutical-grade chloroquine, but during my last attack, I popped a bottle of tonic water into the fridge and drank it at regular intervals for a couple of days. The attack was milder than previous ones, but I'm not sure which of my wacky techniques really helped. I did decide to stock up on tonic water though, as a precautionary measure.

I took one dose of Chloroquine for PCT. It was half of one pill. My experience was awful. My urine looked like Merlot, I got severe chills and body aches, nausea and vomiting. I ended up in the emergency room and will never take it again. I am going to see a hemotologist next week to (hopefully) start phlebotomies. I have also been diagnosed with Hereditary Hemochromatosis.
