I am 31 years old and still want to try for a little girl. I was just diagnosed with polymyositis. Of course I am not thinking of trying tomorrow but wanted to see if there is anyone one here that has gotten pregnant and if it effected them. I definately do not want to put my health in danger if you know what I mean.

" I would discuss this option with your Rhuematologist. I know some of the medications that are used to help with the symptoms of Polymyositis are very strong. Im on azathioprine, and I know if I got pregnant while usung the drug it could cause birth defects. "

" I would discuss your PM, lung issues, and medications with your doctor. I think when you have some clarity over what you are dealing with then you will be able to make a good decision. I am sorry that you are only 31 years old with this disease. I would ask the doctor for a referral to see a counselor if you think this might help you problem solve and get clarity to move forward. I noticed in your other post that you are thankful to The Lord. I have my name on my church prayer list and this helps me greatly with stamina. I am thankful to The Lord too. I will put in a prayer for you. Keep us posted. "
