My acne is out of control, what do you do for this problem? Should I go to a dermo?

" I tried EVERYTHING. The thing that did it for me was switching cosmetics. I use an all natural mineral makeup. Make sure that is does NOT have bismuth oxychloride. Many of the more popular brands do. (like BareMinerals, Physicians Formula) I use Smoky Mountain Minerals. Also, I use St. Ives daily facial cleanser for sensitive skin. It will take a while, but this helped so much. I still have a pimple every now and then, but not the painful, red, cystic breakouts like before. Something about the minerals in the makeup helped my skin to clear up--- I don't know why. "

" The only product that keeps mine under control is Clearisil Blackhead Clearing scrub. You really need to use a product with at least 2% salycitic acid in it. The product sells for around $5 in the US.

It took me a long time, stupidly, to figure out that I shouldn't use a product like Dove soap on my face, because of the moisturizers it always made the problem worse and so did Noxema.

I have also tried Clean and Clear products as well as Neutrogena's face washes for acne with no luck. "

" Another thing a friend swears by is ProActive or the AcneFree stuff you can get at the drugstore or any big chain retailer. They are basically the same and the AcneFree is about $20--- 1/3 of the price of ProActive. "

" I use Neutrogena Acne Wash in the shower everyday and at night I always was my face and use it again. I also use there on the spot cream for those crazy huge ones... seems to be working for the most part. My complexion is much better.
Also, I don’t know if this is possible for you but I quit wearing makeup all together. I don’t wear anything at all anymore. I work in a medical lab so I don’t have anyone to impress there and my husband is so used to me not warring it that if I do put it on for a special occasion he asks me why ?? LOL That was the best thing I ever did for my face. "
