" A couple of years ago I had my period for a little over a month straight. It was bad too I was enemic from it. I saw my Dr. I think you may need to also. They can give you something to stop the bleeding like birth control pills. Have you reacently lost weight? That is what happened with me and my dr. siad that was most likely the reason. She also had my thyroid checked. Mine was fine but evedently that can cause prolonged bleeding as well. So I would definitely recommend seeing your dr. right away. Hope this helps you. "

" This, unfortunatley happens to me all the time. In fact, I am going into my 6th week of my period. My will be spotting one day, heavy the next, then a little lighter....just up and down all the time. VERY frustrating. I finally saw a new doctor who started me on Metformin and Yasmin to try to get everything regulated. Do you have very irregular periods otherwise? Mine are extremely irregular (like I will go 6 months w/o one sometimes)...and it's like my body can't start enough to help it clean itself out. I don't know....but I have very high hopes with this new medication. Just started on it Tuesday and my period is finally almost gone! Best of luck to you!! "

" See your dr. Even with a light flow, you can get anemic if your period never stops. It could get dangerous. "

" Have you called your doctor? I had a 71 day menstruation this year with heavy, heavy clotting that only ended when I had an emergency D&C. By the time they got to me I was in need of a blood transfusion if I lost the slightest bit of blood during the surgery. I asked the doctor to do it as a last resort and was relieved when he told me he was able to finish the surgery without giving me a blood transfusion. When I went in for surgery I was as pale as a dead body. My fingers, lips and face were blue and it was clear I had too much blood loss.

If your fingers start turning blue it is more than just anemia and you need to get to the ER asap. Call your doctor. This is not normal and you are probably anemic by now. You may get away with hormones stopping it. In my case, we just didn't have anymore time to wait for the hormones. Let us know once you've talked to your doctor and keep us updated please. "
