" This has never happened to me because of the increased testostrone I have a high sex drive. However medications affect people in different ways. You should definitely discuss this with your doctor, especially if this is a new symptom "

" Gee, sorry we're not being any help, but i agree with the other ladies. My sex drive has always been high and once diagnosed with the PCOS I was told it was a possible side effect. Of course, each time I started a new medication or had to adjust to a new symptom my drive would decrease for a while, but never anything long lasting.

Good luck. "

" I have been on Metaformin for going on 3 weeks and I have notice my sex drive gone down. . .I think it is slowly coming back. But I had a good two weeks where . . (this may be to much info) I wouldn't even get wet.
And as of yesterday I have developed a hemorrhoid. . . SO now I have NO desire. Life sucks, at least for me right now. :(
Sorry i turned this into being about me. . . I wanted you to know I was feeling the lack of a sex drive too. "

" I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, sex drive has a tendency to come in cycles. It ebbs and flows depending on my physical and emotional well-being.

If I feel like shit, or am stressed, or am in pain, then I feel less sexy. I also feel totally un-sexy when I worry about my weight, or why the hell won't my period come... well, you get the picture. Sometimes just being worried about things -- anything else -- can preoccupy me and make me a bundle of nerves. But it passes. Maybe it's the same with you... if your sex drive is ordinarily different, then try eliminating as much stress as possible and see if it helps. I don't know how long it's been since you've been off the BC or how long you were on it, but it also takes time to get back into the swing of things after stopping any medication It couldn't hurt to speak with your doctor about the sex drive stuff, but my advice to you is just to wait it out and see if you feel any better after giving yourself some time for your body to adjust.

As for the Metformin... I've heard that tiredness can be a side effect initially, but it doesn't always last forever with everyone. If your doctor has advised you to get back on it and see how things go, I guess it's worth giving it a shot. :)

Hope this helps! :) "

" I'm right there with you! I have had NO sex drive since a few months before I was diagnosed. I've been on metformin for about 6 months, 1500/mg a day. It does make me extremely tired! I can't say that it's helped in the sex area, but it has helped me loose weight. In 6 months, I've lost 62 lbs.... only by taking meds. No exercise or diet involved. That's kind of nice. My Dr seems to think that the lack of sex drive is a result of my lack of confidence and low self-esteem because of the weight gain and hair growth in odd places. Not to mention the several skin tags I have all under my arms and down my side. It's crazy! If you do find something for your sex drive, pass it this way! I'm sure my husband would appreciate it! "
