" I get it threaded at the mall - check out the mall in your area, there is usually a tiny shop with a lady who threads. It's like plucking (hurts! hurts! hurts!) but your skin will be smooooooth for days. I have to go in about once every 2 - 3 weeks and I tell the lady "Get it all!" and she does my brows, my upper lip & my chin.

Waxing was great too, but I now have spider veins on my upper lip, I think it might be from the waxing! Anyone else got those? Help...

I was considering shelling out for laser hair removal but if it's $1,400 then I can go to the threading lady 70 times... ~3 years I guess. Doesn't seem to be a worthwhile investment. "

" Dear fellows,

after reading your stories I want to add my words of support and advice for you. I am myself suffering from massive facial hair problems, not because of PCOS, but because of being transgendered. I feel your pain and the deep humiliation, when people stare at my face and sometimes even comments on it. Even though I shave perfectly smooth it still leaves a shadow from the part of the hair below the skin surface, which traditional foundation doesn't cover well. More than ones I had people questioning my sex even to discriminatory heights because of that annoying shadow.

I feel your disgust about shaving as well. It reminds me of those times during teenage years, when I was suggested to get a razor. It just felt so wrong to me. I remember hoping that if I ignored the hair long enough it would just go away. But it never did. Things got even worse when my mother stuck her head in the bathroom to tell me how nice and manly I looked when I stood there with shaving gel all over hating myself already. YIKES!

For now I'm using the razor blades. If some of you have problems with shadows I'd recommend you to search out Blue Neutralizer. It's a specialty foundation designed for transvestites, but it really covers the shade perfectly. You need to cover the neutralizer with regular foundation afterwards.

Diane-Mite is frequently suggested as first-choice medication for hair problems in natal women. Not effective on transgendered women.

Vaniqa? I saw a dermatologist today for a prescribtion, but she said it wasn't worth the money. She seemed eager on advertising her partners laser clinic, however so this might be the reason. Studys suggest Vaniqa works on 58% of natal women.

Epicare? I've read about this product and want to try it. Do anybody among you have experience with it?

Rotary epilators? GREAT for arms and legs. Too painful on the bossom and stomach areas. Unbearable in the face!

Wax? Haven't tried it on the face, but a cosmethologist told me I'd have to grow facial hair for 3-4 days before it's feasible. Completely out of the question as a full time transgendered person!

Laser / IPL? Fast, but it has no documented effects post six months. I may be able to get laser treatments through national health care, in which case I'll go for it. Otherwise I won't spend money on it.

Electrolysis? This IS the one and only method ALLOWED to advertise permanent hair removal with the consent of FDA. I'll be saving up for that.

Hugs
Vibe

PS: What is TTC? I never heard about that. "
