Update to my period

Okay guys, not sure if I should call the doctor...Nine days of my period now. Yes, I went several months without one...so, maybe this is why? I don't know, but I am getting worried. Even with the Metformin, in the past, and without Metformin, my period is 4-5 days tops.

This morning I thought it was stopping...it went back to the browninsh color, and now, it is back to being red and a heavier flow...

Concerned...calling doctor now...anyone have any thougths in the meantime?

" The doctor said if I am still having my period by Thursday or Friday to call back...I love and trust my doctor, but I think I am allowing myself to freak myself out...or something...

Still looking for anyone's thoughts if they have any!

Thanks! "

" You are lucky your doctor wants you to call back that soon. I had a period last for 2 weeks that was heavy, it freaked me out...so I called and when the doctor finally called me back she said that until I bleed for 3 months straight it was not classified as being a medical concern. It lasted for 6 horrible nonstop weeks!
Needless to say it wasn't long and I found a new gynecologist. It may not be a medical concern until after 3 months of bleeding but should a woman really have to go thru something like that...
I have had doctors tell me that with the infrequency of periods with PCOS that sometimes periods can last longer than a typical period.
Good luck

Good luck "

" Thank you all for your comments of support!

My period ended yesterday, thankfully! I am happy to have it back, and hope it becomes more of a regular in my life, but I hope next time it stays only 4-5 days like "normal" for me.

Yes, I am very lucky to have the doctor I have. He takes special thought in my PCOS and is very caring with me. That's why I stick with my ob for PCOS!!

Fingers crossed that this is the start of good things for me! "
