I have another question....I am trying to find out what type of doctor is the best to go to for PCOS diagnosis and treatment. I have been told that an Endocronologist is the best bet. Does anyone know if this is true?

" I just see a regular obgyn but it depends on if you have the money to see a specialist... also are you wanting to get pregnant. Alot of women seem to get pregnant by the help of their obgyn so far no such luck for me. So I think it depends on what your looking for and how much money you want to spend. "

" At this point, I am not seeking fertility help. I did conceive both of my children with the help od Provera & Clomid. I just feel like I am not getting anywhere with my current obgyn and am getting frustrated. I don't know how long you have been trying to conceive and I know it can be extremely frustrating, but try to keep your chin up. I know the Lord worked miracles for me with both of my little ones. :) "

" Thank you! I hope things work out to! I have been trying to conceive for 3 years and no luck so far :( I get to start clomid for the first time as soon as I have a period but so far its not starting. I would switch doctors then or go to a specialist if you want to. Hopefully they can get you on some type of medication to help you out. Are you currently taking anything?

Are you having alot of pain or whats going on? "

" I'm sure you will be blessed with a little one when the time is right...I know it's hard waiting for that, though...I will say a prayer for you.

I am getting reado to start Provera (again...have been on it sooo many times). Usually, I am only on it for 5 days then it makes me start a period. This time, because things have been getting worse--I will go 3-6 months without a period and then have one for months at a time, I am getting ready to start taking Provera for 15 days/month for 6 months ina row and then the hope is that my body will regulate from that. I dread it because, when I have taken Provera in the past, I have had so much pain and everything about the cycle was worse.

I have been having a lot of pain for the past year - 18 months. I was also diagnosed with Endometriosis in March and that was a big blow to me, too. It's one of those things where you feel like, "Okay...what else is going to go wrong?'...you know? I have been trying to lose weight with no success and my first child was stillborn....and I know that all of those things and more symptoms (that I have as well) all point to PCOS. I am trying to stay positive, though and my husband is so great and supportive, I couldn't make it without him. I'm sure you feel the same way. :) "

" I am so sorry to hear about your baby...
My doctor just put me on provera for 10 days to try and start a period so i can start clomid. Well I finished the 10th pill 3 days ago and no sign of a cycle. I am at the point I am ready to give up. Nothing is working.

I have only 2 symptoms of Pcos...
I have like every symptom of endometriosis and I am positive I have it but the doctor doesnt want to go in yet to find out.. not sure why but I am alot of pain and want her to. I am 23 and I have been dealing with this since I was 17. I am afraid if I do have endo. the scar tissue will be bad since I have had these problems so many years. "

" Thank you...my little girl was born in 2003 and was absolutely beautiful. She was 9" long and weighted 10 oz. I am so thankful to know that she is waiting for me in Heaven and I will see her again one day. :) On the other hand, my son was born (after almost 2 months of bedrest / hospital stays) 9 days early weighing 9 lbs 10 oz and was 21" long. He was a big boy....and worth everything I went through to get him here safely.

Please don't give up. I can't say that I "know just how you are feeling" because everyone feels differently about things, but I have definitely been where you are. I started my perios at 11 years old and have had trouble since then. I believe that I have probably had Endometriosis wayyyyyy before they diagnosed it. I was 23 when I had my daughter and 26 when I had my son. So, I had been having all of this trouble for 12 years before I got pregnant the first time and was still able to conceive.

With my first, I took only 3 doses of Clomid (50 mg one month, 100 mg the second month and 150 mg the third--they usually will work you up from 50 with 150 being the highest dose most regular obgyns feel comfortable prescribing....at least that's what I was told). Once I took the 150 mg, I got pregnant. With my son, I took 1 month of 50 mg, 1 month of 100 mg and 4 months of 150 mg. And.....nothing. So, I got discouraged and just stopped. The next month, I realized that I was just going to have to put it into God's hands....and 5 months later--completely out of the blue--I found out I was pregnant with my son.

Everyone is different...it took me anywhere from 1 day - 2 weeks after I stopped the Provera for my period to start. I will definitely be praying for you, but please don't give up. It can make for a frustrating, depressing time...but try to stay strong and keep a positive attitude as much as you can. It really will help. :) "
