I'm generally a very well, very active person. This is the sickest I've ever been and not being able to do things is absolute torture. I can't bike, and I've missed two weeks of hockey. It's left me irritable and depressed, and the recovery is *too slow*.
I can rationalize that my mood is being ill and the frustration and not being able to do the things that make me happy or be a supportive, active member of my household. But rationalizing it doesn't help. Last year I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, had the surgery and was playing hockey 10 days after the surgery to remove half my thyroid. Feeling like this is completely alien to me. Hearing this could go on months is completely beyond my comprehension. I have a hockey game tomorrow night and am seriously contemplating resting all day and playing anyway. Just getting out there on the ice and functioning for an hour would be better than this.
