Has anyone had to have fluid drained from around their lung because of pneumonia? I have had it done three times now. Are there any long term effects from severe pneumonia?

I kind of skimmed through my pulmonary medicine book, there seem to be many causes for pneumonia, maybe it would depend on what kind.The only negative things seem to be if the treatment doesnt work.What kind of pneumonia do you usually get? (viral or bacterial)
