Has anyone had the pneumonia shot? I only ask because when I get pleurisy it is usually with bronchitis or pneumonia and the doctors said I should get a shot.

I got a flu shot but not the pneumonia shot.They said I didn't qualify for it.I have chronic bronchitis.

My doctors have me get the flu shot every year and I get a pneumonia vaccine every 5 years. During the years after my first pneumonia vaccine, I did not get bronchitis at all. I did get it one year, but it was not bad and that's when they told me to get it every 5 years. I'm high risk for a number of reasons, so I qualify for it.

never got the shot but if your doctor feels it is needed I would follow the treatment plan

should have gotten the shot myself but had other things on my mind like my little girl being sick and being admitted to hosp.
