I am 25 years old. I am 6'4" and weigh 260. I am usually a pretty healthy guy.I was diagnosed with pleurisy and pneumonia 2 weeks ago. I was given antibiotics (
doxycycline) and vicodin extra strength. My appetite has been terrible. When I'm not nauseous I do have hunger pains. As soon as I eat, whether it be a couple spoonfuls of applesauce, jello or broth, I immediately feel full and nauseous. I have lost 18 pounds these past two weeks and feel extremely weak. My nerves have been on edge and I have been suffering from what feels like panic attacks. Could it be from being malnurished and not being able to eat or could it be the stress of the pleurisy. The pain was unbearable the first few days, however the pain had subsided over the past week. Has anyone else ever experienced extreme weight loss and/or panic attacks while they had pleurisy. This is an extremely stressful situation and it would be somewhat comforting knowing I am not the only one to experience these symptoms druing pleurisy.

i lost some weight in the hospital because of nausea and not feeling hungry because of the iV's
