My husband had PE's in April and has been in and out of the hospital since then to adjust his coumadin and still has incredible chest pain even though his PE's have completely dissolved. He is now being told he has Pleurisy but the only thing that helps his pain is heavy duty narcotics (he is currently in the hospital on demarol). He had diminshed breath sounds when admitted but the pulmanologist seems to be blowing him off since he doesnt have any PE's now. I dont think they know what is wrong with him. I am afraid he has some underlying cause for all this like Lupus or Rheumatoid Arthritis. But in the hospital they dont have rheumatologist so you have to wait to get out and be referred and who knows how long that could take............ I am just totally frustrated and worried. Any thoughts?

" ask them to do tests for lupus may mean a spinal tap but will give some answers one way or another otherwise set up appointment with rheumatologist now "
