Advice:
How do I stop it?

My father was verbally abusive to me when I was little then in grades 6-8 he started getting physical to the point where he choked me on several occations and slapped me across the face many times. The last time he hit me was last year (I am now a freshman in high school) and he choked me hard enough to leave finger bruises and kicked me so hard in the ribs that I had a six inch bruise in the shape of his shoe and couldn't breath correctly for weeks (my ribs still hurt from time to time as well). I have to see him this summer (I live with my mother) and I'm worried that he'll hit me again, how do I stop that from happening or keep from going to his house?

" I have to b/c my dad has to heve everything HIS way and if I don't go then he calls my mom and yells at her for hours, and not to mintion I have other family where he lives that can't afford to go to my house. My fiance-to-be lives where my father does and the only reason that I'm putting up with going to my dad's is that i get to see my fiance that i haven't seen in two years. "

" no he hasn't he threatened to kill me if I reported him, but I did tell my mother this year and she said that if I REALLY didn't want to see him then I didn't have to, but that means having to get my uncle pick me up from the airport so I can stay with my grandma and see my other family members and I'm not sure if he can do that, I'm running out of options "

" then you shouldn't go. if he calls the house yelling than your mom should tell him that if he calls again she will report him for child abuse and then she should hang up on him. you should not put yourself in harm's way sweetie. i'm sooo glad that you told your mom. "

" thanks, I've been thinking about just asking my grandma to take my uncle with her (she can't drive alone) and have HER pick me up from the airport that way I can see the people I need to and not get hurt again "
