I just have a ? How is it known when an ulcer is healed? I ask because I am not sure if I'm getting the proper care

Well, for one, you might have no more pain. Also, most docs repeate the endoscopy some weeks after treatment starts to see how it goes. Mine took a peek again after six weeks of intensive treatment and saw that the gastric ulcer healed (he took photos, so it was actually cool to compare the one with the ulcer and the one afterward, with only scar tissue left), but the erosive esophagitis didn't. So we continued the treatment and he sort of wanted me to come back for another scope to check on the esphagus but I never did. Will have to now, though, as I am symptomatic again. In any event, I think you will feel better, and also that the doc will follow up. Makes sense? Annie

Yes, Annie, that makes sense. Thank-you. I was just wondering because I was diagnosed with it in January and I've not been re-checked. I went to another gastroenterologist and he wants to see the report from the first scope to see exactlly where the ulcer is to decide whether I need another scope or not.
