Hi All;

I was diagnosed with advanced PD in 2001. Have been on several medications and currently on Artane and Azilect. Also, for the depression part they have me on Lexapro and for stomach problems on Nexium. I feel like a walking pharmacy. The PD meds does reduce the tremors but I then get dyskinesias. Oh well, Now I am having a problem with my feet swelling an I am not sure if it is from the PD or the meds or another medical problem. Anyone else having this problem?

In searching the internet I found this website, among others, that really gives a lot of information on PD and is constantly updating all the time with new medical information on the disease. It is called "The Parkinson's Network" ( address: http://parkinsonsnetwork.org/ ) and it is free. If you register (FREE) you can also get access to the video library and other areas. Just thought I would pass it along. I hate to say this but we diagnosed with PD need all the help we can get.

If anyone has any other PD information sites please let me know.

Thanx

" I was diagnosed with PD in December 2008. I have some shaking in my right arm and leg. My right foot has starting hurting lately. I don't know if it is the PD or something else.
I am currently taking Carbidopa-Levo for the PD along with Lunesta for sleep,& Budeprion for depression. I also take Calcium with Vitamin D, Magnesium & Zinc, & I take CoQ10.
I also feel like a walking pharmacy. LOL :) "

" BAB48, here are a few other helpful web sites that I visit at least once or twice per month:

www.parkinson.org
http://parkinsonsaction.org
www.michaeljfox.org
www.pdf.org
www.pdtrials.org

On a side note, in addition to reporting adverse effects from your medication to your PD neurologist, you may also want to report them to the FDA at www.fda.gov/medwatch or 1-800-FDA-1088 (in the U.S).

I just noticed...you're a fellow Floridian! How nice! I hope you're enjoying our current cold spell, a nice relief from all the heat and humidity, in my opinion. "

" Hi Sandharbor3;

Thank you for your reply and the additional links. I will certainly check them out. Also, the information on the FDA will be very helpful.

I have been living in Florida for approximately 1.5 years. I'm originally from Connecticut so I really enjoy this cool weather. I live in an active adult community and some of my neighbors go out wearing coats in this weather. I put on my jeans and a long sleeve shirt. It feels real nice. I really do not miss New England all that much. I will take this Florida weather anytime. This is better then shoveling snow.
:-) "

" Hi, BAB48. I'm laughing as I read how much you're enjoying our current cold front here in Florida. Having lived here for only 1.5 years, no wonder you're enjoying it while we long-time Floridians (16 years this Halloween) are shivering, literally! Granted, I'm tired of the heat and humidity, but this is just too cold for me! Enjoy your day. :-) "
