U.S. Independence Day

Quite a bit has been written in various discussions here in the PD forum that has been negative about the Americans and the American way of life.

I am a European-born, naturalized American citizen. On this Independence Day, I wish all Americans, whether born here or naturalized, living in the U.S. or abroad, a day of celebration, be it in the form of a traditional barbecue or picnic with loved ones or merely honoring in private this day in our nation's history.

For all its short-comings, it is a beautiful country with kind, decent, honorable people.

Happy Independence Day,
Iris

" Hi Iris, I really have never seen/read/or heard all of the negative things about America. But I guess whatever country a person might be born to, moved to, lived in or whatever there are sure to be some problems. But as the song says " I am PROUD to be an AMERICAN"
and we are free when we look at other countries. Thank You for your well wishes and my wish for you is a wonderful holiday with lots of good food and good friends to share it with. Hugs "

" America is a country made up of citizens of other countries and should be viewed as such. We need not to be judged by our government, but by our people who, in general, are as nice and friendly as anyone else in this world. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA! "
