I HAVE RECENTLY QUIT CIGARETTE SMOKING AND HAVE HAD AND A SHARP WORSENING OF MY CONDITION? COULD IT BE THAT I HAVE BEEN SOMEWHAT PROTECTED BY NICOTINE ? BIT OF A PARADOX I KNOW,I WOULD/WILL APPRECIATE ANY INPUT.

" What ever you do, don’t start again! Like I always say, if you’re a Democrat, ,smoking is bad for you. If you’re a Republican, even milk can be bad for you! Nicotine causes slowed respiration and is somewhat a relaxant. Way back in the 50s and even the 60’s, it was common practice for doctors to encourage their patients to smoke, (to calm the nerves) How weird is that? Might I suggest that you try nicotine gum? "
