Okay, so I'm back from 8 days in hell. I mean it. Hell. So, it was 90+ degrees and 90+ percent humidity for most days. Add on top of that, the crazy sudden rain storms that would soak you to the bone. Then your shoes would start to chafe because they're wet...then the sun would come back out and bake you. Combine that with the fact that I don't like rides all that much and it was pretty much a bummer.
Question- is it normal, for us, to turn "off" pretty much immediately after I rode a ride that terrified me? I would get off of them and could hardly hold my legs still or make them walk; shaky, SHAKY hands and even my neck/head got into the act. I did end up having to use a wheelchair a couple of the days. I had no choice. I just couldn't keep up. Plain and simple. It made me cry the first day, but I did, eventually get over it. I know that my children's first trip to Disney was pretty much ruined because of my inability to "just keep going" for 18 hours plus each day. I did my best, and that's all I can do. We had friends that were there at the same time. We didn't really GO together, we were just THERE together. We did spend a day or two together and my "best friend" managed to make me feel like the biggest loser, piece of crap ever. I couldn't live up to her standard, I guess. Anyway, I was really just wondering if it's normal to still feel like crap and if my "fear" experience made sense to my fellow PD'ers? Thanks........sorry for the long post!! Hi, My husband has had accelerated symptoms such as you described after a couple minor traffic accidents he was involved in. I imagine any kind of unpleasant shock to the system could bring this on. As Doc Campbell on Hee Haw would say..."Don't do that!" Doesn't sound as if you're about to climb on any more rides any time soon. Sorry to hear your vacation was such a bummer! My husband can't stand the heat anymore. We have to consider that any time we're planning an excursion. I don't like to go anywhere when it's that hot either...I guess I'm just a wimp! Take care and best of luck!

I'm so sorry your vacation was such a bummer for you, I"m sure the kids had a great time though, no? Kids are just resillient...but know that even those without PD have a hard time at DW with the heat and the rides...last time husband and I were there I actually had to go to the red cross tent...I got soooo sick on the Space ride and then a couple months later some kid died on it! I think some of the rides say not to get on if you have health conditions and perhaps with the meds you are on, they played a part also.
Cheer up sweetie, next year...not such a wild place, okay? xo

An adrenaline surge will certainly increase PD symptoms. And I suggest you seriously reevaluate your relationship with said 'best friend'.
