Treatment for Parkinsons related Dementia

Hi there
In response to some questions from Members I thought Id post the AAN (American Academy of Neurology) guidelines published April 2006
for the treatment of Dementia secondary to Parkinsons
1) Rivastigmine (Exelon) can be recommended for the treatment of Dementia in patients with Parkinson's disease ALTHOUGH the benefit is modest and the use of this medication MAY CAUSE exacerbation of tremors
2) Donepezil (Aricept) also should be considered for the treatment of dementia in these patients
3) There is not enough evidence to refute or support the effectiveness of Piracetam (Nootropil)
4) There is NO evidence that 2,000 units of Vitamin E provides ANY neuroprotection

Thoughts? Any of you on these?
Dr O.
