" There are several factors to be considered. Does his doctor have an opinion?, Is he free of dementia? The quanities of medicine may or may not be effected. All things bding OK it well likely improve his rigidity, movement, and tremors. "

" I agree with OldSoldier that the first thing is to talk to his doctor. My husband had to be evaluated for dementia before any discussion. He has already gone into PD Dementia so he is not a candidate for DBS.
His physician should be able to talk to you and help you make any decisions needed. Hugs "

" My mother had a bit of dementia and she got it done anyway.

DBS is tricky. but then again, one doc told me my mom has familial tremors and another said parkinsons.

So she had one side done and now wants the other and she is 83 years old, but there are some side affects associated with DBS.
