Implant?

My primary care doctor is not happy with how the Parkinsons is progressing. Rigidity, difficulty speaking, spasms, tremor right arm crosssing over to left arm, halucinations (medicine), legs ache all the time, to name a few things. He says they need to change medications. He will consult the Neurosurgeon about medication changes and possible implant of a devise to do something with producing dopamine. Do you all know what the implant would be and how effective is it?

" Jon: Are you on Symeterel 100 mg 2 or 3 x daily? Chocolate will also help produce dopamine---I eat a LOT OF HERSHEY bars and have for years--also dropped 70 lbbs. Send your ph# to me if you want to talk about that--I had to drop weight to keep mobile so PD is like a knife at my back--I cannot lean bkwards or put weight back on! A cure is coming. "

" find yourself a nuerologist who specializes in pd and or motion disorders. General doctors do not have the expertise to fine tune parkinsons meds, dosing, timing, combination of meds. good luck "

" Are you seeing a neurologist specializing in movement disorders or Parkinsons? I've been through most of the meds as I have rapidly progressed thru this disease. Taking 1250mg of Sinemet a day and will be gradually increased up to 5000mg a day. After 4-5 years my neuro wants to do the deep brain stimulation surgery as we have exhausted all prescription med treatments. Talk to a specialist, some meds have fantastic results for some people.
God Bless
Gregory "
