Has anyone taken this medication? I usually don't tolerate even over the counter medicine so I am very scared to take this drug. Please advise.

May I ask why you might be advised to take Azilect? Are you on any meds for pd now? My husband was put on Azilect as soon as it became available and he's had a WONDERFUL response. He is able to write much better, in fact, the entire use of his right hand has improved. So, advice frome me? If you need it to make life easier, by all means, use it.

It's the only pd med I take. I have a very tough time with side effects and really had a good result with this. It really helped my posture, my rigidity, although I notice my hand us beginning to stiffen up again.

Schells, I guess your doctor thinks you need it?? My mom did take it for a short while, but she didn't like taking it, said it made her feel wierd, but she has always had that feeling with any meds really. You can find the entire make-up of it on the meds website, perhaps a low dose with which to begin? Could it hurt? Could it help? That's usually what I ask myself about most decisions.

Does anyone have an insurance plan that will pay for Azilect? If so I would love to hear about it because my Blue Rx won't pay and cent towards it and at $288.00 a month I can't afford it. Jan

My pharmacist told me there was no generic. Rasagaline is just another name for Azilect.
Was I misinformed. Is any one else getting this at a lower price and called a generic?

I used Azlect for 6 months it worked well. There are many drug interactions and food limitations. That is the only down side.
My insurance did pay for it but the co pay was high. There is no genaric yet still under patent protection Rasagiline is the chemical name Azlect is brand name.
