Hello,
I am new to this group, however not new to DS! I posted this in another group that I joined and decided that I need help also dealing with the paralysis that I have in my right lower leg due to nerve damage from a car accident that I had on May 2nd and am now having a really hard time getting thing's to make it a lil smoother..getting around..etc...here's what I posted....as ya'll can relate..its too exhausting re-typing it over! Thank You and hope to get to know ya'll better! Years!

Today I recieved a call from a Home Health Agency, that the Orthopedic-Surgeon had contacted on my behalf. I saw the good DR on Thursday of last week...and he was VERY GOOD! He even had his Nurse call and check on me on Friday! I am getting an assessment done by the H/H/A tomm. at noon.

I was asked what I needed as far as for the home...I asked for a better shower chair...as the one I am using is actually my son's....who is 15 and dx of Autism....

I also asked for a wheel chair for the days that I have to go to the doctor's and cannot walk far on my walker......which...by the way....think I have already messed the wheels up on that one!

I hate to admit...but I also am having an issue with controlling my bladder...and asked for help with depends or something..ya know..so I don't have to be in the shower 24/7!

I was wondering...what else do some of ya'll have that can make it a lil easier....or...should I say better..to take care of ya self?

I am alone all day and I will be getting a CNA through the agency..who will help me with bathing and grooming....and simple cleaning and errands.....such as grocery shopping and laundry....doctor appointments...I have paralysis in lower right leg and fractured back and pelvis...and nerve damage....I still have many more tests to go through.....before I knw what else may be wrong..

I do not know how long that I will recieve these services...and I need to make sure that I get all that I can right now....so when its all on me again.....I will be able to do for myself....Any advice..suggestions...are greatly appreciated!
