" Well....ya may not like what I am about to say ...but....suck it up and move on with ya life!!!!! DO NOT SHUT DOWN!!!!! Just because ya in a wheelchair DOSEN'T mean its over!!!! I have Cauda Equina Syndrome a spinal cord injury due to a car accident 2 years ago....I grieved my "life lost plans" etc...and now have accepted my own destiny....MY BODY...MY CHOICE......In a sense that I choose to go on with what I HAVE....NOT WHAT I DON'T HAVE.......Its taken me some time....and I have my days too....but NOBODY babied me....and I am not gonna baby you......sorry if its not what ya wanted to hear...but sugar coating it would be a lie....it is....WHAT IT IS.....BLUNTLY....RESPECTFULLY! Now.....I have right leg paralysis and my left legg goes numb from time to time..I drive with my left foot only a short distance (no freeway) I do not have nor can I afford a modified vehicle......I just had to modify my body..use what I DID HAVE =)

Ido my own grocery shopping...I call in advance and have the store bring a driveable shopping cart out front for me....and hop in and get-er-done!!!! I have learnt how to lock my left side really well..and bare some weight....I can use a walker in the home for a short distance...I have a "Leg Lifter" that I use to lift my right leg and its been a blessing!!!!! Mind ya....I cannot take any narcotics for pain relief due to severe allergic reactions!!!!! I only take Naproxen for swelling....so...I have suffered in pain...and to top it off....I broke my neck in December!!!!!!!!!! I have a 17 year old son dx with autism and manage to get him to his doctors appointments, haircuts etc...and when we can..an outing for fun..movies...park...visit friends....go to the park....etc.....I lost A LOT of my so called "friends" and I am sure by now....YA KNOW WHO YA FRIENDS TRUELY ARE!!!!!!! I plan to buy a driveable lawnmower this summer..because I am tired of paying ppl to cut my lawn....found one that I can do an easy transfer into @ walmart and operates with the left foot......had I of completely lost both legs....I'd of modified my life around that too...and there is still that possiability with my condition.....I am self cathing and use pull-ups at night due to the spinal injury....I wash our clothes..do our dishes...even bought a small broom stick vacume to sit and vacume...I am NOT trying to be mean....I merely want to reassure ya that LIFE MUST GGO ON AND YA CAN AND WILL DO THIS!!!!! I am here if ya ever wanna chat! Years-of-tears. "

" I am exactly like you. I am 48 years old now and I was injured at 21 1/2. I've ruined my whole life but the Lord is there for me every step of the way. Believe me just about every sin I have thought of doing or done a few. I feel horrible in my head and I could never be good enough for Jesus. But he keeps picking me up. I am not suggesting that's okay for me but I really keep searching for a purpose until he answers. Some of the thoughts that enter my mind are absolutely demonic. I feel like I am fighting a demon but I still love life. My friend until the Lord calls you home, just keep fighting the good fight. I am proud of you from a distance for opening up to your situation Jesus loves you and every one of us keep strong "

" how are you doing? I am doing much better but still struggle from time to time with my extra time. Took the advice on "sucking it up." I don't want any pity for sure. Life is great with quadriplegia and Jesus! I hope you have turned the corner as well. Easier to try to count our blessings then to look at the negative side. Also, I am looking into vocational rehabilitation for possible online employment of sorts. Hey, it's a start! God bless you all, Phil "
