" Hi, I have been a T-4Para for 31 yrs. I had bad spasms in my legs so theDrs perscribed Valium (a muscle relaxer). It worked just ok till I heard about adding Catapres patch from Kessler. Works great & no more spasms for yrs. For painI just take advil now. It is very hard at first but you might try to relax your body (bio-feedback). You have a long life ahead so you don't want to ruin your guts with harsh meds. It will be ok, I had 2 boys 1 & 2-1/2 and they grew up with me just fine. Be strong, it takes some time to adjust & find what's right for you. If you want to talk just type or e-mail me. "

" Hi Dadonwheels, I was just recently told that Baclofen is no longer being made. It's one of my neuro meds for spasticity. IV Morphine helps a lot though be prepared that it is only temporary UNLESS your docs plan to keep it continual through your IV to manage your pain overall. What are the options the doctors have given you? Any? Magnesium is an OTC supplement which helps some with spasticity. I have 17 Rx meds and many supps, too. I hope something works out for you. God bless you, your wife and children. -Chloe "

" I was taking about 30 pills a day, for this and other ailments. I took max. dose of Baclofen with no bennefit,

Doctors sugested narcotics, those were unexceptable to me. Everything I take is bad for liver, I also suffer from a

liver disease. The side effects of withdrawl from baclofen are dangerous such as stroke...talk to your doctor about

this. my spasms are not as bad as they use to be, maybe my body adapted physically to the situation, or the sistic

tumor in my spinal cord shrunk. Spasms for me, when it is cold spasms are uncontrolable/solution heat. the more

activity I have the less spasms, stretching out also helps.God Bless godstrength ! "
