" hi
i didnt have that happen but mine also have something to do with sleep,i have them whenever i try to sleep, and then i have what seems to be secondary axiety(or anxiety about anxiety,in situations whier ive had attacks in the past)?
i think it could be related to the physical changes the body (or is supposed to)when close to sleep we are supposed to wind down and become very relaxed ,but anxiety is the opposite of feeling relaxed because it is the physical state of alarm, telling us we are in danger, i dont know the answer to your question but you might be on to something i know in my case thiers something going on around that transition from being awake to asleep and vice versa?
im also curious about this ? "

" sleep apnea is possible, read up about it at google

otherwise panic attacks on waking are fairly common, our minds are in a strange state as we wake up, it takes a while to go fully from sleep to wakefullness

a dream will often continue for a while if a person is woken "

" I am like that in the morning, really hyper, feeling panic coming on. I think it is waking up and mind racing on whatever it is that we are dwelling on at the time. I have my own worrys as do all of us. Calmpaal is right. I think it is like that for most of us regardless of when we sleep. It is the waking up. "

" So over the years of dealing with anxiety I have come to learn that sometimes I cant tell the difference between having a panic attack and learning that something is happening in my body...I used to think I was having a panic attack every morning when I woke up but my therapist explained to me that I can no longer tell the difference between a feeling in my body and the feeling of panic...once I realised thats what was going on I now know its not anxiety or panic its me waking up lol. . .maybe its not the same as yours but thats what I learned "

" I was told by my doctor that my dreams or rather nightmares were the reason for me waking up with panic attacks or anxiety. I started paying attention to what I was dreaming about and noticed that whenever I had a nightmare I woke up panicky. Just the other night I was having a nightmare and woke up in the middle of the night panicked. I told my self it was a bad dream and fell bad to sleep. If you can write down your dreams and discuss them with your therapist. We have alot hidden in our subconscience. Good luck and know you are not alone. Also before going to bed say I am going to have good dreams. Don't watch anything or listen to anything that could be fueling these panick attacks. And finally last but not least try listening to some relaxing music and meditate on something you enjoy. Hope this helps you. "
