Does anyone else ever get the feeling they have a lump in their throat from panic? I get a feeling of having a lump in my throat, or a feeling that I cant swallow completely, or that my throat is clogged. Anyone else??

I feel like I can't really swallow sometimes, or that I really have to concentrate on swallowing and kind of force myself to. I don't really get the'lump' in my throat feeling, but I'll feel like my throat is kind of tight and dry.

I get the same thing you get...almost feels like i have a fur ball. I always figured it was from being so tense that even my neck muscles were affected. It usually goes away once i force myself to relax....is yours the same way?

get doc to check your throat and if all is OK then its from anxiety and is a very common feeling for anxiety sufferers, try to ignore it, valium relaxes the muscles and will help for a while

Hey, Rockclimb, I know exactly how you feel. I get it all the time while having a panic attack. I can't eat b/c I can't swallow. Sometimes I have to spit out the saliva b/c I can't swallow it and can't breathe good.
The medicine does help and getting back into my safety zone. I thought I was the only one but now you and I both know we are not alone. Good Luck.

As we speak,or should I say write, I am getting that closed throat, can't get enough air in feeling. I get that a lot so take comfort in the fact that you are not alone. The more you think about it the worse it gets.

You are so not alone. I felt like I had a tickle in my throat for a little over a year and then it turned into the a lump and dry throat but at the same time I had like a post nasal drip thing to and with me I did have a bad not being able to swallow symptom for years.I found that working out and not eating to much salt no fry foods and less sugar no coffee
helps fight these symptoms for me.Mints help sometimes too.

I get this once in awhile. Feels like someone is kind of choking you or something pressing against below your adam's apple. It goes away within 30 seconds for me. But it scares the crap out of me.
