Feeling weird on meds

I am starting medication for the second time for PA's. I was on Zoloft back in'06 but got off of it because I felt better and because it made me feel a little weird (liked drugged up). Now I am on something, it startes with a "C", and I am feeling weird on it. It might just be because I have anxiety and am aware that I am on meds, but I was just wondering if the first few days or weeks on meds feels weird to everyone.

" Is it Celapro? The second time I had to take Paxil I noticed that I felt really foggy and I experianced tremors. I don't remember being this sensisive the first time around. Hang in there!! It gets better in 4-6 weeks. "

" I always feel weird on meds when I start. I always have panic attacks about starting new drugs, even though they're supposed to help with panic in the long run! With most of them, the side effects wear off after a few weeks, or you get used to them and find it's better to have a few side effects than the crippling bouts of full-on panic attacks. I've been trying different drugs on and off for the last fifteen years. I think i've just found the one that suits me best, Cymbalta. And, I do feel weird on that too, but it does get better. If you can get through the first couple of weeks, you'll be able to see just how well (or not) it's helping your panic. Good luck! "

" It is normal to feel weird, more nervous, or out of it when you are starting SSRI's. Some people need the addition of a benzodiazepine in order to tolerate the increase in anxiety that can happen sometimes. Ask your doctor about this if your anxiety gets worse.

It can take a month for the medication to kick in, so don't worry if you don't feel better right away. Remember as well, that everyone is different and just because one person reports a problem with a drug it doesn't mean that you will have that same problem. "

" Hi,

When I was first taking medication, I also felt weird because I wasn't used to taking a lot of medicinal drugs. I even had a difficult time swallowing pills before and preferred syrup instead. But eventually, I got the hang of it and right now, I'm just treating my medication as some sort of vitamins instead of thinking of them as psychological drugs.

Regards,
atvsamala "

" There are so many different SSRI's out there. If you feel that you can not tolerate the side effects, there are more you can try. I could not tolerate the side effects of Zoloft and Lexapro. They made my PA much worse. Finally I gave it another try and prozac is the one for me. Of course I had to deal with the side effects while getting it in my system, but it wasn't as bad as the other meds. Every person is different and our systems deal with meds differently. DOn't give up. You will find the right one for you. Hang in there! We are here for you! "
