So I went to my Dr on wednesday and I really do not want to take zoloft anymore only because I am soo fatigued and of course it kills your sex drive which i am not totally worried about but i know its a side effect. Also I cant seem to eat on this med , have NO appetite. So she told me to decrease the 50 mg to 25 and see how I feel.. Well for the past two days I have felt horrible.. I am soo tired I can barely stand up. I had to go out today and it was so hard to even drive. Is this normal. Has anyone else tapered down off this med and if so what kind of side effects did you have. I also have a ton of dizziness.. uggg please help:(

" Psychotropics are rough and most of them pack on the pounds because they shift your neuroendocrine system.

Check your TSH and T4 levels. You might want to try an Alpha Stim or Biotuner BT-7 for some anxiety relief without medication. "

" Hi tigertales.. I had my labs checked because alot of my symptoms seemed ok but it was normal. I mean they only checked the TSH.. Not T4 but TSH was normal. I have not really gained any weight actually i dont have much of an appetite anymore... Should I have my T 4 checked? "

" Sorry this post made no sense haha . what I meant to say was alot of the doctors thought my thyroid was the problem but they checked only the TSH.. which was normal. Never had T3 or T4 checked.. I have tried Alpha Stim before and i thought it worked well. I have not gained weight thank god but had no appetite.. Is is normal to feel crappy when reducing the med? "

" I would get in touch with your doctor, because, these symptoms do not sound right.....Zoloft helps me so much, I am sorry it dos'nt work for you. Again, talk to your doctor, to see if you can change meds. I know this is a pain in the ass,but , once you get on meds. that's right for you, you'll probably feel better. Hang in there, you are not alone!!! HUGS!! "

" zoloft doesnt suit all of us, its 1 of many prozac type meds, there are several other types of antidepressant meds that may suit you better "

" hey i have been on it before and i was a lot like you . i am currently on prozac and im not decreasing the dose but increasing. the last few days have been horrible.i have had more anxiety and just jumbled thoughts and my sleep has increased . but they tell me that it takes a while for your body to adjust to changes in meds. initally it may make things worse but your body should adjust at least they what they say.hope things get better soon "

" thanks randy i hope so.. i asked the dr about going off completely and she suggested tapering the dose down for awhile before stopping. I am not sure if i should be off of it . Probably not considering it has helped a bit but i am really just not into taking these meds. I did notice feeling different since cutting the dose in half.. I am super exhausted yet cant seem to sleep and very irritable.. How is the prozac working out for you? i know you said horrible lately but you just increased the dose correct? "
