I ca't breathe because I have a cold and it causes panic attacks mainly at night, which means I get no sleep. Is there a non addictive medication that may help calm me down so I can get some rest?

" have you ever tried nasal spray? It really works wonders when you have a cold. Just be sure to only use it for 3 days, or you can get addicted to it (sounds silly but it is really true) I let my kids use it (little noses)just when they are really stuffed up, and like you said, can't sleep. I suffered with the same thing for months, and i was allergic to the cat box. Hang in there, and sleep in a reclining chair if you have one. ( It helps keeping your head higher to let your nose drain)

" I can relate to you!! Have had that happen to me too. I've had tremendous help in using the "breathe right" strips. I am sensitive to any cold medication so this is a great option for me. hope it helps you too! "

" I agree, the nose spray works wonders! Just don't use it for more than the reccomended dose, otherwise you'll get even more stuffy - why? IDK. The Benedryl may also help...helps me when I have a panic attack!! LOL! Or, try some nyquil - that should knock you out...as long as you don't have problems with alcohol. And don't take them all at the same time! Good luck tonight! :) "
