I am 37 and scared - i keep having panic attacks - i keep thinking something bad is going to happen - like i'm going to die or something - i can't sleep; it triggers my asthma so it makes me think i'm having a heart attack or something = i was looking for an online chat support help but can't find one - i would call my sister but she is to busy with her own family I don't have any friends and my parents live about 800 miles away so I really feel alone and vulnerable and scared - can someone help.

" I know its scary and very over-whelming. I have dealt with it for over 20 years. Its in good control now because I visualize that the "out of control" feelings are like a racehorse in the gate. I control the gate. I WILL not allow the gate to open ever again. Sometimes that horse gets mightly strong and scary, but I control it. It took a long time for me to get to this point. I had to have counseling. I found that distraction helped alot. Taking baby steps helps. Its not all in your head, but how you react to the feelings is partially a conditioned response "in your head". You have to learn to stop the "what if" thinking. You have to stop the catastrophic thinking. You must somehow get enough courage to pass thru the very uncomfortable feelings of panic, pass thru to peace. There is so much I can say. I know you can overcome this. Do not feel bad about yourself. You can get better, there are many ways. "
