Probiotics-ATTENTION PANCREATITIS EXPERTS-HELP

A couple of months ago my Holistic/Family Medicine doctor prescribed Probiotics. Mind you up until this point no one has diagnosed me with Pancreatitis, but a couple of years ago when I really started to get sick, indigestion problems, abdominal pains I did my own research and thought I may have pancreatitis.
Some strange things that I have wondered about are the Probiotic Pills, Brewer's Yeast, Alcohol, cultured rye bread, yogurt with live cultures that I have taken over the years. When I took or ate these items I would have this severe pain in the mid abdomen and my doctor could not understand why!!
Gee, I guess there may be some link to Pancreatitis going on.
This monday I'm going to have an MRCP with secretin to find out more about the pancreas.
What does the MRCP with secretin look for? Are there any complications from the test?
What other food, drugs, etc. are bad for the pancreas?
Back in 2005 when I first had abdomen pain a day later after drinking alcohol my doctor told me to stop drinking. I did for a little while but did continue drinking at a reduced amount. She did do a Lipase test but it was normal. All of my Pancreatic enzyme tests have been normal since 2005.
I did notice some problems starting in 2006 with terrible abdominal pains. But no one ever found any thing wrong on my labs, xrays, US's. Why would anyone think pancreatitis when all of the tests were normal?
In 12/07(after having terrible pain in my abdomen), new doctor, and new labs. Liver enzymes were elevated. My doctor told me to stop drinking alcohol and I did for good, except for a half of a glass in 4/08 for my 50th birthday (my parents strongly encouraged me because they said what is the harm). I had terrible pain in my abdomen.
My liver enzymes came down somewhat but not totally back to normal (ALT 52, AST 41) in 3/08. ALT was 68 in 6/08, normal in 9/08 and 11/08. 1/2010 AST 59, ALT 72, In 2009 they were up and down.
I have been monitored by a Liver specialist for Liver disease starting in 11/08. (referred to him by my GI doctor). 12/07, I WEIGHED 175 POUNDS. I WAS HAVING TROUBLE EATING NORMAL FOODS SO I DID CUT BACK ON FAT, PROTEIN AND SUGAR FOODS (From 9/08 to 6/09). I WAS EATING HEALTHY ORGANIC FOODS ALL ALONG.
In 12/08 I was admitted to a hospital for a couple of days of concentrated testing for the abdominal pains. EUS was normal, Abdominal Ultrasound was normal, Bacterial Overgrowth test showed slight elevation of bacterial overgrowth, HIDA scan showed that my Gall bladder was not functioning. At this point I WEIGHED 153 POUNDS. Endoscopy and Colonoscopy were normal in 10/08 and 11/08.
Wouldn't an EUS show something wrong with the Pancreas? The ducts were normal. I guess this test doesn't test the function of the pancreas?
After the gall bladder was removed in 12/08, I still had problems eating normal foods so I went back on the beans, rice and vegetable diet for a couple of months. Then I went to this Holistic/Family Medicine doctor that ran a number of tests: stool, vitamin deficiencies, etc. She found that I had Pancreatic Insufficiency and many vitamin deficiencies and a parasite.
She asked me to eat some ground flax seeds and then I had a major problem. This was the end of Feb 2008. This is when I had the "knock the wind" out of me pain and intense sweating. Prior to this happening I did have a second HIDA scan that showed borderline sphincter of oddi dysfunction (on a scale of 1-5, I had a 4). The blood work showed elevated Liver enzymes and not pancreatic enzymes. So my doctor experts now agreed that I must have S.O.D. Type 2. So I continued on eating a diet of beans, rice and vegetables from March to June 12, 2009. That's when I had the S.O.D. surgery to cut the sphincter on the common bile duct side of the one way valve that opens into the duodenum.
I tried eating normal foods after the surgery and had a lot of problems with indigestion and pain. My GI surgeon told me that it's related to IBS/SOD and take anxiety meds and see a counselor. I was so mad!! I couldn't even eat an egg without having pain!! I was basically told to eat small frequent low fat meals and I would never be able to eat like a normal person would ever again! JUNE 12 2009 I WEIGHED 130 POUNDS.
I HAVE CONTINUED TO LOSE MORE WEIGHT SINCE THE SOD SURGERY AND HAVE PAIN WHEN I EAT FATTY AND PROTEIN FOODS. EVEN FOODS LIKE FRUIT BOTHER ME. I GET A REAL RUSH FROM FRUIT. I'M REAL BONY! IN SEPTEMBER 2009 I WEIGHED 120 POUNDS AND AM CURRENTLY HOLDING AT THIS WEIGHT AS OF 6/4/2010.
I HAVE A LOT OF WEIRD SYMPTOMS AND THEY ARE PROGRESSING. I BELIEVE I HAVE CHRONIC PANCREATITIS BUT AM NOT SURE.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THIS HAS GONE ON SO LONG WITHOUT ANY DOCTOR FIGURING THIS OUT. I'VE HAD TO BE VERY CREATIVE AND PERSISTENT TO GET ANY HELP.
MY PCP DOCTOR DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO FOR ME ACCEPT TELL ME TO GO TO A COUNSELOR FOR HYPOCHONDRIA, SAME WITH THE GI AND LIVER DOCTOR. I THOUGHT FOR THE LONGEST TIME IT WAS THE LIVER BUT I'VE DONE A COMPLETE 360 DEGREES BACK TO WHERE I STARTED THINKING IT WAS THE PANCREAS ALL ALONG. I EVEN SENT AWAY FOR THE BOOK "BEATING PANCREATITIS' TWO YEARS AGO. I DID DRINK ALCOHOL (wine) consistently for over a 5-8 years period.
I'M VERY SICK, HAD TO QUIT MY JOB AND AM UNEMPLOYED AND HAVE NO DISABILITY COVERAGE BECAUSE NO DOCTOR HAS BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE ME WITH ANYTHING!!
IF ANY ONE CAN GIVE ME ANY ADVISE I AM OPEN TO IT. I WILL BE HAVING THE MRCP ON MONDAY JUNE 7 2010! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ME QUESTIONS TO NARROW THIS DISEASE DOWN!
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!
Question: Why do you get thirsty, dizzy, sweat and have dry mouth?? Does any one know?
