Can her oncologist send them a note on his/her letterhead saying that she can't eat or digest without this enzyme and that's the only formulation that seems to be available now? Sometimes it helps if something comes directly from the doctor (I know - they're the ones who prescribed it in the first place - but we've had some success with doctors writing to the insurance company on their own letterhead).

Good luck; I hope she can get some help soon. This is all so scary and bearing your own expenses can't go on very long because they're so high.

Hi... Her oncologist has been helpful but the insurance company has not. We did find another pill (enzyme) yesterday that looks like it will only be about $100.00 OUT OF POCKET and the insurance will pick up the rest. These pills are very expensive, but this is much better and hopefully she will tolerate the pills. After my sister was diagnosed with the pancreatic cancer, her husband's job increased their deductable to $8,000.00 a year. He works as a mechanic and they have less than 50 employees. You know Obama says with this new health care plan these kinds of things won't happen. I still know that insurance companies try to make things harder for those that have chronic illnesses. Thanks for letting me rant on and on. I really feel bad for her as they are in such a fixed income and this hurts. I know there are lots of folks out there who are struggling.

I have two bottles of enzyme pills which no one is taking since jim passed away. I could mail them to you. What else am I going to do with them? Jim hated them and he quit taking them. I wonder if people really even need them. They made Jim sicker then he was without them. Anyway, If you want them let me know.

I also have 4 bottles of the generic creon 10 so if you could use them, I would also be happy to send them to you. I have no use for them since my husband passed away and just never got rid of them as of yet. So expensive that I wanted to see if I could find someone to use them. Please let me know.

Thank you so much but now my sister is taking creon 12 and has been fighting with the insurance company, but she tells me that they are now going to cover all but $100.00 a month. This is good news for her. You are the 3rd person who has offered the pills to us and I am so blessed to have people out there that are so nice. So at this time things are going to be ok and she doesn't need them.
Now, about you...... I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. Please know that there are folks out there that are praying for you and thinking about you. Bless you. This disease is so scarey and I pray one day they will find a cure. Keep in touch with us and let us all know how you are doing.
