Yesterdayn we went to the hospital for what we thought was gonna be an MRI/MRCP but told just an MRCP. They are looking to see if there is a tumor in pancreas. EUS showed what they thought was a small one in the body, and CT scan wasn't done correcty and nothing was seen. We were told husband needs MRI to make sure it wasn't missed. Now I feel like we are wasting more time. Will just am MRCP show a tumor if its in the body and not a duct, or should an MRI have been done also?

" Matt's MRCP came back today. Dr out of town nurse read it. Part of it said several small cyst possibly psudocyst. what can ya'll tell me about this. They were looking for the turmor that was seen on Endoscopic ultrasound. Usually best answers come from those who have already been thru it, even though everyone is different "

" Thanks Hearsick, Seems the nurse sugar coated those results somewhat. It said , and I shortened it " multiple cystic areas, largest 1.5 cm, most likely pseudocysts, rather than IPMN as they were not seen on CTs." However being that small, IPMN's wouldn't have likely shown up on CT's. Dr has decided they can't handle this in our area and we need to go to MUSC in Charleston SC. That is good, in my eyes they are not gonna drop the ball and that is what I was most worried about. "

" Here is what I was looking for. This is fairly new research and may be a great tool in early detection and cure of PC. http://www.sciencedaily.com/release...

This is also a very good site for research, they are the pancreatic elite at Johns Hopkins.

Wishing you the very best of luck. "
