" I'm sorry but I forgot to tell you that we just found this out on 11-5-08 and just today we got the results back that it spread to the liver. They were going to put a stint into the panc to stop the blockage but the plan now is to create new paths in the panc. I hope I am making sense. Because the cancer spread I guess it is in a stage 4. However If it's A or B we have not found out yet. What should we expect? Is this going to be a fast thing. Mom is in great spirits and has some pain when she eats. She is yellow. But we never thought cancer. We assumed it was the gull blader. "

" Our 71 yr old mother was dx with pancreatic cancer April 1, 2008. My sister and I were shocked to see what this cancer does. Our mother never ate and never suffered. God spared us of that and we believe that. My sister fed her ice chips a lot and we had hospice give her medicine through a suppository. Hospice was awesome and my sister never gave up. Our mother passed away July 25th and we were going to bury her on a Monday, our brother was killed the day before, on Sunday in a tragic car accident. God may have spared us of her suffering because he knew we were going to bury two. Pancreatic cancer is quick and all you can do is keep your loved one comfortable. My sister and I could not believe what this cancer does; I could not have done it without her wisdom. We are grieving two, and my best advice to anyone with this dx is to get Hospice involved right away, they will help you understand everything, I promise. "

" Drs say that when it is in other places than just the pancreas that yes it goes fast but my dad is still going. He was diagnosed Mar 2008. But before that it took a year to diagnos. they went through every excuse.. gall bladder, pancreatitis, then finally he got extremely sick and couldn't keep anythig down. he thought he had a stomache bug but when it progressed for almost a month he finally went to the hospital. it turned ot that the tumor in his pancreas was from one wall of the pancreas to the other blocking entrance into the stomach. they had to do surgury to readvert the path so he could eat.
He is still alive and well now but we don't know for how long. The dr just told him that the chemo which he had several different kinds isn't working anymore and that his body can't take it. He told him he had untill fall. but we will see. its all about your attitude and praying. that is what got us this far and what will carry on regardless of the outcome because if i continue then i know that God truly does want him and he will be in a better place.
