Just diagnosed Stage 1C

Hi folks

I joined the group a week or so ago but didnt want to join until I had official diagnosis. Today I got the results. My OC has been caused by Endometriosis, gone bad. I didnt even know I had it! Stage 1C clear cell ovarian cancer, the diagnosis COULD have been a lot worse.

I had a radical hysterectomy (laparoscopy) at the end of May and also have a DVT in my groin, for which I am still being treated, with Warfarin.

I am seeing my Oncologist on Tuesday 23rd and should begin my 6 treatment Chemo a week or so after that. I will also be having genetic testing as my mother died from breast cancer. Apparently genetic links would improve my prognosis even more, not sure how that works but I am sure I will find out!!

I am feeling relatively calm right now....its weird!! I guess my diagnosis has a very good prognosis and I just want to get on with it all now. I have NO doubt I will get scared, frightened and very tearful during my treatment, but for now, Im ok! I am sure I will have questions for you all over the course of the next few weeks.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I hope everyone is feeling ok today.

Cheers!

Abfab

" Thanks Susan...much appreciated! Im going via NHS, although it was 1st spotted and tested for privately....by my Rheumatologist!! (long Story)

I didnt learn anything new with Oncologist on Tuesday and am now just waiting to be called for chemo. I have been told this Monday or next. In the meantime, I have gone back to work, part time this week and hopefully full time next week, pending on chemo.

I hope everyone is feeling well today!

Hugs
