gag reflex with Doxil

Just got off the phone with the on-call Doc from the oncology office. I've had two days of painful gagging going on.
I will try to even begin to chew something and it begins. It's painful and scary.
The Doc said this is common with Doxil.
It's not a true closing of the esphogus
or windpipe, but rather a neurologic response. He said it lasts usually from4-6 days, during which I should just eat soft foods.
Another of the side effects that no one told me about. It's not even on the Doxil website.
Oddly enough, it the only bad thing happening, so I guess I shouldn't complain.
hugs to all, lindam

" Are you taking a combo of chemo drugs? If so what is the other one? My mother has experiencing gagging too. "
