Feeling symptomatic - possible recurrance

Good Afternoon Friends -

Just here looking for some moral support as after nearly 3 years of remission, I have been feeling very symptomatic the last 3-4 weeks and called this morning to get in for a CT scan. It's scheduled for Friday morning. I dealt with everything pretty well the first time around, but I'm not mentally or emotionally ready to go through this all again. Any advice or encouragement for the next leg of this journey?

Thanks!

" Hi,
I don't have a clue what it means, but Pet scans are pretty darn good at illuminating the problem. It was a Pet scan that revealed my diverticulitis which symptoms mimic OVCA. I will be sending you many good thoughts and prayers. Also, will be watching for your post re: scan results. Deep breathe, my friend. It's going to be okay, like Inca said, whatever it is, you've got it early.
Love, Rhoda & Scottie "

" Best wishes with the PET scan. I've never had one of those either and don't know anything about it. I imagine the PET scan will present a clearer picture of things and am happy your doctors are being this thorough. I hope the results bring you good news. XXX Janet "

" I hope your PET scan goes well and that it turns out not to be anything OVCA related. It really undersores that no matter how long we are free of the cancer, no matter what comes up in the Dr. exams and test how stressful it can be1 Thank goodness we all have each other.

" Test went fine today - probably won't get results until Monday though. Definitely a LOT more to the PET than a normal CT, but if it can be more conclusive, I'm all for it. Glad it's over though!

Thanks for all your wishes and prayers throughout the week. Keep 'em coming! I need all the help I can get right now. "

" Well, I finally got the results of the PET scan and unfortunately it's not good news, as I was expecting. The two lymph nodes they were concerned about did show as "active" on the scan. While technically yes, they are still "small" (about gumball size) they're not what I would call microscopic. In the grand scheme of things it could be a heck of a lot worse, but yeah, I'm mad "its back"!! They are going to treat me with chemo - 3 rounds to start; have me do another CT scan and see where we are at then. The good news for the short term is that the combo of drugs they're using this time should not make my hair fall out - YEAH!!! So I guess we will just see what happens... thanks for all your support and encouragement the last 2-3 weeks. I really appreciate it. Keep up the good fight everybody! "

" Not the best news, but how wonderful that you caught it so early. You have fabulously strong instincts. Reminds me how with a gut instinct, I decided I needed a CA125 test, when I was considered cured and all tests had stopped a couple of years earlier... thats how I found my cancer had returned. Great that you get to keep your hair on. I'm hoping after the results of my scan I will manage to keep mine for a while longer..

We will all be with you this time.. cheering you on and sending our best wishes for you.. Inka xxx "
