I was wondering if anybody else has experienced an increase in overall joint pain after finishing up their chemo treatments.
Also I finished a round of six chemo treatments in Sept and I am still have very little arm strength and fatigue. Posted on 03/25/08, 09:47 pm |

Yes,that is a continuing problem for me. Sometimes my legs hurt so bad that I have a hard time walking. They gave me amityptillin to take for the muscle aches, but that makes me so sleepy that I can't ewake up! It seems like you should be getting some strength back by now-what does your doctor say? Yes, I too have terrible joint ache. Mine is in my hips, but I have found that walking, even though it hurts, makes it better in the long run. I have had a terrible time this winter, as this winter is one of the worst on record for snow fall and storms in Canada. I am hoping that once spring comes and I can get outside and walk it will improve. My Dr. said joint pain is a side effect of the chemo, and it can last a long time. I am okay with the fatigue however, it doesn't bother me, but the joint pain, OWWW!!!!

I just read something in a natural health journal that's supposed to help relieve leg pain, as well as restless leg feelings (muscle "twitches", creamps, etc.) This article said to dring a glass of plain tonic water (diet or regular, doesn't matter) as the quinine in the tonic water is supposed to help relieve nerve pain in the legs.
I haven't tried it yet, but will this week (as soon as I buy some tonic water). Hope this helps - I'll let you know what I think! LuEllen
