Gemzar Chemo

Hi everyone,

I just started my second round of chemo and my CA125 has gone up instead of down. I am using Gemzar and Carbo this time around. Wondering if I should be worrying that the ca 125 has not decreased but increased after the 1st round. Anyone out there with any experience in this?

Thanks

Glenda

" Hello, Sometimes certain Chemo drugs do not work for everyone. They may need to change your course of treatment with a different combo of drugs.I was given Taxol and Carbo, which is a common form of treatment. I am sure your Dr will discuss all your options.

Stay Positive. I know it is not easy

" I had taxol and carbo my first time around. I was hoping not to have to use that regiment again. Hoping the increase just has something to do with the drug itself. "

" Hi, 1st rd carbo/taxol is the norm. My 2nd rd was doxil w/o improvment. 3rd round gemzar/carbo but carbo was too much for my blood counts, now on gemzar and avastin. CA 125 going up but PET scan getting better, I'll go with the scan.
Since 6/2010 and hanging in,
Hugs Anne "
