Hi. I've ovarian cancer and had major surgery with much removed.Doctor said he got it all. Major organs are okay except for the colon and rectal.I now will do chemo and though I've researched and cycplatinum w/taxol seems the best with carboplatinum and taxol next, I hesitate. It is scary the possible side effects; kidney failure. I don't know that I can bear the abdominal pain and necessary water drinking. Has anyone done this? Will you share what causes or how long the abdominal pain lasts? I have a great support with family and friends but will have to make this choice on my own. Someone who's experienced it would help. Toni

Hi
My ovca surfaced 18 months ago: after my surgery I began Taxol/Carboplatin which didn`t work for me. Apparently I was resistant but loss ALL MY HAIR ON MY BODY :( Next I was on Doxil which also didn`t work. Presently I`m on Avastin/Gemzar which have reduced my CA125 levels from 7500-18. I consider these to be my "wonder drugs". Possibly you can ask your oncologist about them. Lots of love and strength. xxLinda PS My abdominal pain took a few months to go away
