Wondering if any others have had problems with hypothyroidism? How long did it take to get 'back on track'? Is there a medication better than another?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks! Posted on 12/26/08, 11:12 pm |

I have had hypothyroidism for years. I have been taking Synthroid ever since. Started off with a low dose, that had to be increased over the years. Once you get on the medication it takes about a month to start feeling better. Hypothyroidism is hereditary and usually runs in families.

My mom's had thyroid issues for years and years. This fall, and especially ever since I was sick, I've been so low on energy. I'd called my doc, and I'll be checked on Monday at my appt. Just wasn't sure how big of deal it is, but I'm really hoping to find out if that's what going on and get it taken care of.

I've had hypothyroidism for many years and it is controlled by Synthroid. I occasionally have to adjust the dosage (my endocrinologist does that). I have routine blood work drawn so that it is monitored consistently. I never know when it's "off" track--I go by my doctor's evaluation of tests.
