A few years ago, my right eye went really bad, I have always had bad eyesight. I went to a local dr and he said it was just a floater. I told him it wasnt floating. He dismissed what I said.
U got online and wrote an eye dr online and he told me to see a retina specialist. With messing around with this other dr, I developed scarring o of my macula and now blind in my right eye. SO I watch closely of my left eye. I have always had floaters but today they got really dark. THen I developed a zillion little floaters. I went right in the eye dr he didnt see any big tears in my very thin retinas. But tomorrow I had down to the retina specialist so he can look closer with his special equipment I guess I have PVD and pray I dont lost my eye sight but these zillion floaters are driving me crazy esp since I only have one eye to see with. Anyone have that happen to them? WIll theyeventually go away like reg floaters do? I am scaredd Knowing my luck pribably be where I cant buy and I finally got a new car in 10 years. My eyesight has always been bad. 60 now and been wearing glasses/contacts since 5. Have always had floaters but had an "attack" of loose black threads (it seemed) all over my left eye yesterday. freaked. Went to eye docs and diagnosed with Posterior Vitreous Detachment. A little onsight looking and it's really got me scared since it says there's nothing I can do, the other eye will probably go the same way and, if it's as bad as this one, I'll be permanently unable to -- at the minimum -- enjoy reading, etc. so ANY help, advice, etc., would be most appreciated. Thanks.

DD, I'm so sorry for you. I have horrible problems with my eyes and my biggest fear is going blind and losing my eyes all together. So far, chemo has helped thank goodness. I don't know much of your condition however I do know that my doctor see's people all over the country. He is world reknown, speaks and teaches all over. I know he consults over the phone and I think for nothing on some people. I know that there are many times I sit with people from all over the country who come to see him for intial treatment and to grab hold of the disease, then he makes recomendations to there home physicians to follow a treatment protocol. It might be worth a shot for you hun. The name of the clinic (I call it a clinic, haha) is the Massachusetts Eye Research Institute. it's run by Dr. Stephen Foster. I know you can google him. He did a show on Mystery Diagnosis too. Good luck to you, you are in my prayers as are you quart.

Are your "zillion floaters" almost flickering and static like?
