Hello everyone, I am new to this group. I have recently had alot of very painful neuro symptoms and was referred for an MRI. While speaking with my radiologist during this visit he mentioned the results of an MRI I had a year and 3 months earlier in April '07. He said your MRI showed bilateral mastoiditis last year. I said really I was never told that, what is it. He of course would not answer me because I think he was schocked that I was not told my by Dr. Evididently I have had this for over a year and now i have severe conductive hearing loss in my left ear and mild in my right but the worse problem is the pressure I have felt in my head for 3 months now. It is there 24/7 and never lets up. I have severe pressure behind my nose also. (no congestion or sinus drainage) I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced this. I have read some very scary things about the complications of untreated mastoiditis. I am waiting to see a new Dr in 5 days but am so very scared and in a lot of pain. I don't know what to think

" Hi. I just saw this today. Have you had any resolution? I'm going through exact same thing for at least 20 months now. "

" Hello mastoidman
I have not had any resolution and I am still suffering with this problem which has actually turned into several problems now. I have found that Dr's are very difficult to deal with. I am going to see a different ENT on April 6th. He actually just operated on my 4 year old son in January so I already have gotten to know him and his staff. He has talked to me a little and specializes in mastoiditis. Both of my eardrum busted again this month without any explanation because they are not infected and they will not heal. I am on Topamax and Neurontin and still no complete relief just helps me get by. I hope that you haven't lost any hearing. I have some permanent hearing loss from this. I will post again after I see this new Dr. He is a really nice man. "
