I herd that putting on a hot cloth over your ear and taking some tyonol helps. it worked for a bit for me.

I know that if An Ear infection is viral you just have to let it take its course and if its bacterial you can get a prescription for drops or sometimes they have drops from the Pharmacy. I have 2 ear infections right now and my best bet would be to chew gum, its helped me to get my mind off of the pain and relief pressure in my ears

ibuprofen is a pain relief and a anti-inflammatory put if you are in real pain and over the counter pain killers are not working go to see your doctor they will perscribe you some stronger pain relief
