I am being serious. Especially my left ear it hurts so much the pain digs right into the middle of my ear and head. I have tried to regularly clean my ears and use eardrops and cotton buds to loosen up anything in there but I am still in pain, and my hearing is too over-sensitive even with small sounds. When I drop something or any noises are made wherever I am, it echoes or bangs in my ears. I tried to put a cotton bud in my left ear yesterday but the shooting pain was so horrific I couldnt even touch the sides of my earhole. What could this be? I have had this pain for a few months now. I too have the hyper sensitive hearing. the best thing I can think for your left ear is a ear infection. sorry it's not more i don't have allot of knowledge when it come to ears. I have Two ear infections right now so thats what made me think of it.

Have you heard of Hyperacusis? I have this ear disorder. It is a collapsed tolerance to sound, all sound. I also experience pain like you do. check out this website, it might help:

I've had the same problem! Its like a constant pain that goes striaght though your head. I went to an ear doctor and they told me it might be a neurological problem..... that tells me alot. I'm so over being in pain.
They told me if it was a outter ear, my ear drum would be inflamed and if it was a inner ear I would have hearing probs and need medicine to make it go away. So that was $200 for nothing.

My ears are hyper sensitive too, but instead of sound they are always COLD, even in 70 degree temps or slight wind i need to wear head band, I feel congested and sleep with head elevated on 2-3 pillow in attempt to drain them. I get frequent sinus infections also usually 4 per year, at least once including otitis media. Will this be something I just have to live with?
