Anyone have a clue about why vitamin D is low? I think mine should have been tested a long time ago when I had osteopenia. Now have osteoporosis in hips. But have been on calcium supplements for about 5 years.
How many also have vitamin D deficiency? Thanks for your input. Have a nice day! xoxoox deeee Posted on 09/29/09, 11:09 am |

The National Osteoporosis Foundation is the best source for answers. It's www.nof.org. It is quite common and often has a genetic component.

Thanks for so much help with understanding what is going on with me! Since mom is adopted, I don't know anything about her family and know very little about my father's relatives in NJ. Lost contact with some, and many passed away.

I've been taking 2000 IU for the last year and just had a Vitamin D check. It was in the optimal zone.
