what is progesterone cream and how do you use it - i really hate taking medications and am not thrilled with the way i feel since taking them - my exercise routine could use improvement but i feel some movement is better than no movement so i only do the treadmill and the exercise bike for about five minutes each day

Thank you. It is made from wild yam root which is identical to what your body makes. I did research online to find out about any side effects. There I found a female doctor prescribing for her patients. I had to decrease my dose to 1/32 of teaspoon because it is fat soluble. I use it morning and evening wherever a vein is located; neck, arms, thighs, breasts, belly. I use is 21 days and off 7 days. The cream I use has no herbs that could cause problems for me. I looked at several. This also has ingredients good for the skin.

I am getting to swim. Can't do treadmill.. don't have any energy and lose balance. Sold my treadmill many years ago. I do what I can and not worry about it. Going to enjoy life.

Im 52 and was recently diagnosed with osteoporolsis. I am on an estrogen patch, that I believe is bio-identical, but I am also using pro-gest, made from wild jams. I smoke-trying to quit, and only walk for exercise.

I would like to stop the estrogen, it's too.a high dose, and I read that progesterone cream actually makes estrogen. I am also considering DHEA. I take one times a week alonondrate. My cholestral is super high (300) and my alk phosphate is super high (400).

I was happy to hear about your success, and I am wondering what kind of Dr. do you go to. Are you near LA?

I used a type of progesterine cream called "Emerita" cream. It is the best type to get I was told. I used this after a botched up hysterectomy for several months.

At present I just began using the Vivelle Dot .025 twice a week for hormone replacement. This is the lowest possible dose in a patch form and I'd highly recommend it over the Climara patch. It seems to be doing its job.

I think you can buy the wild yam cream at health food stores. It tends to be expensive at these local shops. I found a good price on vitaglo.com for the Emerita cream.

I might try using that again as I had no idea it helped with osteoporosis/osteopenia. Right now, I am on the edge (another .25% and I am osteoporosis)..

I found out recently that I had an aunt that died as a young toddler of rickets which is severe vitamin D deficiency (this was c. 1920 or so). I'm getting very worried now as my father had a rather severe case of osteoporosis. He suffered a lot from it and had to wear a back brace.

Don't be fooled! This is one painful condition to have. My back and spine hurt something fierce and I can find little help from any of the various drugs they've given me.

These biophosphates they push are scary drugs and I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to take them. I don't want to either. About the only thing I've got going for me is a sound set of teeth! I don't need necrosis of the jaw!

As for the vitamin D - I am severely deficient (score of 11) and have been taking 100,000 units of it for 3 mos. now. I cannot say I notice any difference. Same goes for all of this calcium they have me taking.

Know you aren't alone with taking all of these drugs that are pushed and handed out without much scutiny. Scares the living daylights out of me I must admit. :(

I have used Fotero shots since January of 2009 for my osteoporosis. I have noticed that my spinal fusions have healed and that I don't get broken pelvises any longer. I have not noticed any side effects. The shots don't hurt for the most part, depending on how I give them. I am happy with the use of Fotero shots.
