just thought i'd share what i'm taking for my bones:

calcium 500 mgs, magnesium 800mgs, selenium 50 mcg, chromium 100 mcg, silica 5mg, zinc 30mg, manganese 2mg, copper 1 mg, boron 3 mg, potassium 200mgs, vitamin C 500mg, vitamin K2 45 mcg.

right before bed i take 680 mgs of strontium citrate. the women in europe are taking strontium and are having amazing results.

i also take 5000 iu's of vitamin D3 a couple times a week but did take it daily for an entire year because the blood test showed i was low in vitamin D. it took a whole year to get it up to normal.

you need to ask your doctor for the blood test to check your D levels. if you aren't low you shouldn't take any extra D. (if you do need D be sure to buy D3)

my doctor, who i think is fantastic, prescribed fosamax for me. i took it once but felt completely freaked out for some reason. so then i started doing research and discovered that fosamax (and the other bisphosphonates) will help people who have had previous bone fractures or broke bones. then i talked to a researcher who told me, off the record, to NOT take fosamax; he advised me to start taking minerals.

he said that once you take fosamax or any of the other bisphosphonates you have to continue to take them forever because bones will not remineralize once you take them.

my mom has been on foxamax for 10 yrs and she thinks i'm crazy for not taking it.

AND, i'm not trying to convince anyone else to follow what i'm doing...i'm just posting this incase anyone is on the fence about 'to take bisphospenates or not."

" Thanks for the info!

Do you have any DEXA scans YoY (year-over-year) that show increase in bone density on this regimen? "
